Our Doctors

Alec M. Anders, M.D.

Dr. Alec M. Anders received his undergraduate degree at Brandeis University and his medical degree at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in 1994. He completed his residency in family practice at Georgetown University and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Practice. He is currently a clinical assistant professor at Georgetown University School of Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Anders provides primary care to children and adults. He has a special interest in sports medicine and is a former team physician at Thomas Wootton High School. He is fluent in Spanish.

 

Lillian M. Cardona, M.D.

Dr. Lillian M. Cardona received her undergraduate degree at the University of Puerto Rico, College of Natural Sciences and medical degree at the School of Medicine from the University of Puerto Rico, where she also completed her residency in family practice. She holds a Graduate Certificate from the Business of Medicine program at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Cardona is board-certified with the American Academy of Family Physicians. She is fluent in Spanish and English.

Sharmila Matippa, M.D.

Dr. Sharmila Matippa received her Masters of Public Health from Tulane School of Public Health in 1999. She received her medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2006. She completed her residency in Family Medicine and is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice. She holds a bachelor of Medicine from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences. Dr. Matippa has been in practice since 2007.

 

Thomas J. McNamara, M.D.

Dr. Thomas J. McNamara received his undergraduate degree at Catholic University and his medical degree at Georgetown University. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. McNamara has been a practicing internist since 1984.

 

Indira E. Molai, M.D.

Dr. Indira E. Molai received her undergraduate degree from Hunter College and a master’s in biomedical sciences from Touro College. She received her medical degree from Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and has been practicing since 2007. Dr. Molai has just recently moved here from New York, where she was an internist with St. John’s Family Health Center.

 

 

About Our Physician Assistants

Physician Assistants (PA’s) are skilled professionals who provide medical services under the supervision of the physicians. For example, PA’s take medical histories, perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses and order and interpret laboratory tests. Patient education and counseling are also important aspects of a PA’s daily activities.

Amanda Donoughe, PA-C

Amanda Donoughe received her undergraduate degree in Emergency Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008. She received her Master of Physician Assistant Science at Saint Francis University in 2010. Amanda is a Board Certified Physician Assistant.

 

 

Claire Jakabcin, PA-C

Claire Jakabcin received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Virginia Tech in 2006. She graduated from The George Washington University with a Master of Science in Health Science, Physician Assistant Program in 2011. Claire is a Board Certified Physician Assistant.
