Saturday schedule
Jan 16 - Chevy Chase
What is a flu shot?
An influenza (flu) shot is a vaccine given with a needle, usually in the arm. Seasonal flu shots protect against the three or four influenza viruses that research suggests may be most common during the upcoming season.
Who should get the flu shot?
Everyone 6 months of age or older except in rare circumstances
What flu vaccine do we carry?
- Fluzone quadrivalent- standard flu vaccine for ages 6 months and up
- FluBlock quadrivalent - preservative free, egg free
- Flumist quadrivalent - live virus nasal spray for ages 3-50 for those that do not want a shot (equally as effective as the standard flu shot)
Will insurance cover the vaccines?
- Flu vaccination is covered by most commercial insurance and Medicare.
- Shingrix, the shingles vaccine, is covered by most commercial insurance and sometimes covered under Medicare part D. If it is not covered by your plan, we will inform you of the cost should you choose to accept the vaccine and pay out of pocket.
Can I get lab work or other services at the time of flu clinic?
No, we can only provide vaccinations during the scheduled vaccine clinics.
Do you have a COVID-19 vaccine?
At the current time, there is no approved COVID-19 vaccine. We hope and plan to be able to give a COIVD-19 vaccine when it becomes available.
